About me

Andreas Dahrendorf

  1. Artificial intelligence in Europe

My work with technology has led to an interest in how artificial intelligence is developing in Europe. I want to understand more precisely which systems are emerging here, how they are used in business, government, and society, and what interests, costs, and responsibilities are connected with them. The podcast is an attempt to examine this development through conversations with people in research, business, politics, and public administration.

  2. Artificial intelligence in practice

For the past four years, I have increasingly experimented with artificial intelligence. I test models and systems in real workflows and examine which tasks they can perform reliably, what evidence supports their results, and where responsibility remains anchored. My work is grounded in a continuing engagement with research, technical development, and practical implementation. For me, the decisive factors are the task, risk, system boundaries, costs, and responsibility for the outcome.

  3. Own projects

This work takes concrete form in my own projects. AmtsGuide examines German administrative processes and makes them easier to understand. SPD-Anträge makes political documents accessible with AI; the independent SPD-Antragsplattform tests digital ways of working on motions. As curator and organiser of AWE Berlin, I connect XR, research, the creative industries, and business. videoSightseeing brings together historical films, the urban environment, and an iPad app of my own.

  4. Media production and technology

For four decades, I have worked where media production, technology, and responsibility meet. My work took me from film productions in Munich, London, and Frankfurt through executive management at Markenfilm Berlin to leading Berlin production offices. Early experience with virtual reality at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and at various Fraunhofer institutes is part of this background, as is the development of digital formats and products.
